Dirty Back Window…

The Art of Emily Dewbre-Young meets Thoughts, Humor and Primal Living in DFW, Texas

Well, it finally happened! The Weekend has arrived, so what are we going to do about it? How about this stuff…
Fort Worth Arts Goggle
When? Saturday, May 19th from 4PM til 10PM
Where? Near Southside, Fort Worth
What?
ArtsGoggle, the twice-yearly celebration of art, artists and music in Fort Worth, Texas’ Near Southside, is expecting another tremendous turnout on Saturday, May 19, 2012 and October 13, 2012 from 4 to 10 pm.
Since its inception in 2003, ArtsGoggle has evolved into a popular festival of the arts in this eclectic neighborhood of historic elegance and urbanism immediately south of the central business district of Fort Worth. This free to the public, family-friendly event attracts a crowd as diverse as the neighborhood itself with live music, artistic displays of every kind, food, drink, and fun for everyone. Public support has increased rapidly, as evidenced by ArtsGoggle’s selection as the Best Gallery Art Show of the Last 12 Months by Fort Worth Weekly readers in 2007 and 2008.

On top of that we hear our friends from Feed Your Head will be there in their bus with the Hippie Gypsy Drum Jam in full effect!
GO SEE STUFF, DO THINGS AND SEE SOME MORE STUFF AND DO SOME MORE THINGS. NOW! GO! GO! GO!

Saw this on Pinterest which linked to a blog on Tumbler as the source but went there and they cited another source. Not sure who to credit with this but it sure is an awesome idea isn’t it?

It’s just a camera phone shot of a try at computer work again. It’s actually a small piece of a painting I did that I didn’t like when I was done except for her. So I just worked around the one part I liked. Don’t know if I’ll do anything with image but it was fun to mess around with.
– Emily Dewbre-Young

Well, I sent out emails to folks, mentioned in previous posts that I was looking for someone to spotlight and otherwise begged and pleaded but, alas, I have not heard back from anyone to feature today for Small Business Spotlight but no worries! I have something else I can share with you today that we’ve kind of been sitting on. Back in February Em’ was contacted by a fellow who wanted to commission a special gift for a family member who is a Scout Leader to be given during an upcoming award ceremony.
We didn’t want to post this during March because we didn’t want to run the risk of possibly spoiling the surprise in case the recipient somehow got wind of it. What the guy had was on old Ammo Box that he wanted to have sanded and painted back to it’s original green color then decorated with the emblems of the scout troop and other symbols representing the Boy Scouts Of America.

Here’s a new one Em’ just finished up in the studio recently on a canvas panel. So far we’re kind of stumped on coming up with a name for this one. Can you help?

Well, aside from the obvious that artists have to eat too and if they can’t make a living with their art they might give it up and go toil away at some other task, never to share their art with the world again. Okay, maybe that’s a bit melodramatic, but it could happen! Seriously though…
