Paul Kennedy - Calming States Massage
So tell us about Calming States Massage.
I am a licensed Massage Therapist and Calming States is the name of my practice. It is located on the west side of downtown Fort Worth, in the Camp Bowie District and very close to the Arts and Museum District and the Will Rogers area.
What can people expect when they visit you? Relief!
Kidding aside I offer several modalities here:
Swedish Massage, which is the basic foundation of Massage.
Deep Tissue / Medical Massage – This works into the deeper muscle tissue and fascia (connective tissue) helping with severe or chronic tension, injuries or pain caused by heavy physical activity.
Reflexology – This is a technique used to stimulate the thousands of nerve endings found in each foot. These nerve endings correspond to specific parts of the body, including bones, nerves, organs and glands. By stimulating the appropriate region, it is intended to eliminate energy blockages thought to produce pain or disease in the related areas. Reflexology can be relaxing as well as help relieve stress and tension throughout the body.
Reiki – A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Continue reading →

Keep Bikers SafeMore than a decade ago when the internet was still a booming new phenomenon to most folks and UseNet and DejaNews had not yet gone the way of the dinosaur I used to hang out occasionally on the dfw.general newsgroup upon which local folks would get online and chat it up about pretty much whatever was on their mind. It has been said that if you took 100 random people and put them on an island somewhere in the middle of nowhere and left them with enough provisions to survive for awhile until they could figure out a way to do for themselves then came back a year later you would find some sort of a working society going on.
This week we have a few new tidbits to share with you. Read on to find out what’s happening in and around Arlington this weekend that you might want to go check out! Continue reading →
