
Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011
In a very vaguely written bill, the US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347 late Monday evening. Essentially this is a bill that makes it illegal to protest at secret service covered events. Because of the vagueness with which it is written they could basically call just any event a “secret service covered event” or just send one secret service agent and tell him to go look after that and it becomes a “secret service covered event”. It’s written in such a way that, for example, if you’re protesting something and they make it into a “secret service covered event” but they don’t tell you that they have done that, you can be arrested and put into jail for up to a year or for certain other things you can be put away for up to 10 years.
